from Chasing Goats to Chasing Goals

It's been a while, right? Life has changed 180 degrees for Freddie and me in the last 2 and half months, since I wrote you guys last. Life is so so sweet.

Often times I hear people ask, "Do you miss the farm? The animals?" Let me preface this with, I'm a rare breed of human... hahaha. You guys know how I loved and cared for those animals and how much I cherished the farm, but when I was done, I was done! It was like a light switch going off for me. I closed the fence and never looked back.

I am one of those people who wants to rip the bandaid off and move on to the next thing. Call it resilience, call it cold, call it what you will but it's a quality that I have become very fond of in my life as I am able to leave the past and keep my eyes on things that serve me in my current season and leave the things that don't. I wish I could bottle it up and sell it! Haha I wish for so many people they could see what I've seen in my own life the past 4 months. If they knew what God was holding on the other side of what they are holding onto, they would drop it and run! Doing that over and over has developed this trait in me.

Because I have this ability, or really just a yearning to be obedient to what God is calling me towards, I am able to see the fruit of the steps I've taken when I decided to say, "Yes, Lord" before I even knew the direction He was pulling me. I've been able to see my son grow and flourish in ways that I would never have on the farm, isolated and stuck. I've seen him create genuine relationships with good godly men, play games and sports he was too afraid to fail at, jump in to help and volunteer every chance he gets, learn from leaders who run production equipment for church, and open up about God to our leaders in ways he couldn't when it was just me and him. He's taking ownership little by little, growing in maturity and actually enjoys being challenged. THIS is why we moved. THIS is why I don't miss the farm. THIS is why I don't spend one moment sitting back and wondering if I made the right decision for us.

This season was first and foremost about focusing on him. We moved his gradation date up by a year and a half, so he could graduate "on time." He's embracing mentorship and today we are starting him on some new habits to grow himself personally and prepare him for owning his own business so when he's old enough and he's finished with school, he will have an incredible foundation to fly.

I was looking for something more in life. I was praying for leadership for both of us. I was praying for the ministry God would one day entrust to me. And now, I have all of it. It isn't just about having it though. We have to be good stewards of the blessings and the gifts He has given to us. We have to cultivate a life worthy of good fruit. If we aren't growing, we are dying. Being complacent in life is not an option. And, that takes daily habits, accountability, and community- we were never meant to do life alone. I'm so grateful I leaned in, decided to pursue mentors in my life, and pursue freedom for my family and future.

Because of these huge transitions towards goals I've had for over 10 years, we have changed the mission and vision of this blog and really making the driving focus to help others have this freedom too. We've removed the distractions from our life and I want to remove them from our business and what my mission is here so I can serve those who God brings into our life near and far at the highest level. That meant taking some plates I was spinning and putting them down in this season. One of my favorite speakers said, "The way we do anything, is the way we do everything." And I want to do everything with excellence. So here is a look at where we are going now! The heart has always been the same for me, and God was just nudging me to a more clear, direct path of serving and leading.

My Story

I am Lauren, a girl raised in the south, equal parts simple and extra. I'm mostly known for chasing goats in my former life and now I'm chasing dreams, seeking joy, and an expert detective of silver linings. I am a creative entrepreneur inspiring dreamers to arise, equipping them with connections and resources to grow, and empowering them to leave lasting legacy and impact.

After years of pursuing entrepreneurship alone, I met some mentors, through a friend, who are helping me create the life I want to live. They have already helped me get debt free and are opening doors for me. I currently own an Etsy shop, but I am excited that by the end of 2022, I am on course to close that door and smash this iron to live life on my own terms.

Now, I get to help connect people to my mentors, who have created crazy results, retiring in their 20s, and now have a legacy of success to share in their 60s. They want to teach other people how to do the same things to be successful in all areas of life.

I've always known my life mission was to inspire, equip, and empower people to live freely and joyfully. This was my missing piece- connection to successful people. And now, I get to spend my life pursuing freedom with the most amazing people on this planet.
