If you're not filling your diffuser with clove this fall, what are you doing in life?! Haha.
Maybe you don't even know what diffusing means. Perhaps you love the smells of fall and all the come with the festive season of spice and sweetness. It wasn't 'til recently that I really bought into this whole essential oil thing, really. I had used them for making homemade bath and body projects, but filling my diffuser seemed tedious- psh... hardly. It was more intimidating than anything else.
What do I blend? How many drops? Oh girl... I got you.
I loved the smells of all my fall candles from good ole you know where... that fragrant place in the mall with all the things good in life. Or is it? I had been getting headaches 4-5 days a week and my sister told me I needed to go to the doctor. However, I had been hearing time and time again that our homes were filled with poison. POISON?! What? Chemicals, toxins and fragrance pollute our homes more than the air outside. Do what? Now you have me listening.
So I did a thing. I rid my home of fragrance. Artificial smell and we are ditching and switching our household products and personal care products, because honestly, I didn't know that they weren't regulated by our government, the FDA.
No one is telling anyone what they can put in our products. And within in 26 seconds of being on our skin, they are absorbed into our bloodstream. Smelly candles are not worth the migraines and the aftermath that my health is probably staring down the barrel at. But in the last month of detoxing my home, I've only experienced 3 headaches- all from other things than fragrance (one time my son took a huge metal bowl and threw it down next to my head- not relaxing the clanking terror that would soon result in my head pounding).
I no longer suffer from headaches from fatigue, dehydration, or even staring at screens for hours... I thought for sure that would be one of those things... y'all it was the darn fragrance in my home. Good bye candles, plug ins and air fresheners... see ya NEVER!

Here are a few blends to get you started.
If you've never diffused oils before, all you have to do is get your diffuser, fill to the full line with water and then add 6 drops of oils. Most diffuser vary in size and time, so be sure to read the instructions. Some even have some really neat lighting options. If you want to get started with a diffuser, we can help you!
To clean, you'll want to clean about once a week or in between strong blend changes.
Turn off and unplug your diffuser.
Wipe out the reservoir with a wet cotton cloth.
Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and clean the ultrasonic plate to remove any extra buildup.
Rinse the reservoir with water; then wipe it clean and dry up excess water with a soft cloth.
Add water and essential oils; then diffuse away!
